PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touchdown bearing improvable in durability compared with the conventional one using an inner ring and an outer ring simply formed with a solid lubricant film on the surface of stainless steel or bearing steel or formed with a molybdenum disulfide coating by forming ruggedness by shot blasting, or using balls ion-plated with Ag or the like. SOLUTION: Any of surfaces, brought into contact with other members, of an inner ring 1, an outer ring 2 and rolling elements (balls) 3 and, if any, a cage which constitute the touchdown bearing, is formed with a calcium zinc phosphate coating 3a and is further formed thereon with a molybdenum disulfide coating 3b. As a result, the adherence of the molybdenum disulfide coating 3b is enhanced by fine ruggedness, created by crystal grains, of the surface of the calcium zinc phosphate coating. Further, even when the molybdenum disulfide coating 3b is worn, any loss of base material can be inhibited by the lubricity of the underlayer forming calcium zinc phosphate coating 3a.
