PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately detect knocking of the engine. SOLUTION: A knocking detection device comprises: a cylinder pressure sensor outputting a signal depending on cylinder pressure of an engine; a signal extraction device extracting a first signal and a second signal from an output signal of a cylinder pressure sensor, wherein the first signal has a frequency band corresponding to the knocking of the engine and the second signal has a frequency band for detecting the peak of the cylinder pressure; a knocking detecting zone setting device setting knocking detecting zones for detecting the knocking based on the second signal; a knocking determination device checking the first signal in the knocking detecting zone and determining whether or not the knocking has occurred. Since the knocking detecting zone is set optimally for combustion, the knocking is detected without influence of the other noise included in the output of the cylinder pressure sensor.
