PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw type feeder capable of enhancing the compression efficiency and the moldability in a compression molding machine. SOLUTION: A discharging member 4 having a narrow-tapered part is mounted on a feeder 5 for transferring stuff to be charged from a hopper 2 into a casing 1 while kneading it by a screw 3, and a plurality of discharge holes 4b are formed in the tapered part of the discharge member 4. The stuff is compressed by the discharge resistance by the tapered part of the discharge member 4, and rubbed with portions of the discharge holes 4b formed in the tapered part. The bulk density of the stuff is increased by the compressive shear force to be provided by the combination effect thereof, the stuff is broken into pieces, and adhesive elements in the stuff are extracted to enhance the compression efficiency and the moldability in a compression molding machine 11.
