PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize power consumption by motor assist while securing a required motor assist quantity Ta. SOLUTION: The control device is equipped with a re-acceleration request detecting means for detecting a re-acceleration request by a driver which is issued before the engine is stopped after the automatic stop control of the engine has started. The control means determines a necessary and sufficient motor assist quantity for the engine on the basis of a crank angle of the engine detected at detection of the re-acceleration request. The drive motor is controlled so as to drive an output shaft of the engine by a torque corresponding to the determined motor assist quantity Ta. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
