PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a combustion state depending on property of fuel used. SOLUTION: This combustion control device comprises: a variable fuel injection means 10 directly injecting fuel in a combustion chamber, and can inject the fuel in a manner divided into at least main injection and a pilot injection which injects fuel before main injection; a pilot combustion state detection means S200 detecting the combustion state resulted from the combustion of the fuel of the pilot injection; and injection control means S310, S330 correcting at least target injection pressure set depending on an engine operational status, target fuel injection timing of the pilot and main injection, and a target pilot fuel injection amount, depending on the pilot combustion state detected by the pilot combustion state detection means, and thereby to control the fuel injection means 10.
