PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a filament nonwoven fabric enabling good needle punching procedure without using a lubricant. SOLUTION: The method for the production of a filament nonwoven fabric comprises the needle-punching treatment of a filament web soaked with water. Needle punch can be applied without using a lubricant by soaking the filament web with water. Conventional filaments can be used as the filament constituting the filament web and thermoplastic filaments are especially preferable. The amount of water supplied to the web is preferably≥30 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the filament web. Tap water can be used as the water, and water containing a small amount of a hydrophilic agent is also usable as the water.
