PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer dispersion capable of forming a coating product having good mechanical and optical properties. SOLUTION: A method for producing the aqueous polyester-polyacrylate dispersion is provided, comprising the following process: In the 1st step, (A) a free radical-copolymerizable vinyl monomer mixture is subjected to polymerization in the presence of (B) one or more oligoesters prepared from compound(s) containing lactone groups and having a hydroxyl number of 145-710 mgKOH/g, an acid number of≤0.5 mgKOH/g solids and an average OH functionality of 2.5-5 mgKOH/g solids to prepare a polymer P, and subsequently, in the 2nd step, the polymer P is mixed with (C) one or more polyester polyols having a hydroxyl number of 10-500 mgKOH/g solids and an acid number of >0.5 to≤30 mgKOH/g solids, and the resultant polymer mixture is dispersed in water.
