The invention relates to the field of power generation using a plurality of heat reservoirs to optimize power plant design. In particular, in a power plant (100) use of a high temperature heat reservoir (108) and a low temperature heat reservoir (104) allows for full load operation of the plant (100) during off peak power periods where excess steam from pressure turbines (106) and excess electricity are used to store heat energy in said reservoirs (108, 104). During high peak power periods feedwater or steam pass first through the low temperature heat reservoir (104) and then through the high temperature heat reservoir (108) and on to the pressure turbines (106) to produce additional electricity
