New 9,10-dihydroxy-1,4-dihydroanthracene-1,4-dione compound is protein kinase D inhibitor useful for tumor suppression, inhibition of tumor angiogenesis and the treatment of cancers

9,10-Dihydroxy-1,4-dihydroanthracene-1,4-dione compound (I), as an agent for tumor suppression and inhibition of tumor angiogenesis, is new. 9,10-Dihydroxy-1,4-dihydroanthracene-1,4-dione compound of formula (I), as an agent for tumor suppression and inhibition of tumor angiogenesis, is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a pharmaceutical composition (A) comprising (I), carriers and diluents; and (2) a method for preparing (A) comprising mixing (I) with one or more carriers and diluents and bringing the mixture into a suitable administration form. [Image] ACTIVITY : Cytostatic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Tumor angiogenesis inhibitor; Protein kinase 2 inhibitor; Protein kinase D inhibitor. The protein kinase D inhibitory activity of (I) was tested using HeLa cells in a biological assay. The results showed that the median inhibitory concentration of (I) is 39.69 mu M.
