The fluid distributor(1) comprises a supporting part which under normal tool operating conditions is non-deformable. When the distributor is installed in a tool two spaced openings(16,17) of the distributor connect with fluid inlet and outlet channels(12,14) in the tool(2). Elastic sealing rings(18,19) seal around the flow openings. The majority part or all of a flow chamber connecting the flow openings lies within the tool and not in the distributor. The supporting part is made of metal and/or plastic. Sealing rings(18,19) are either placed in recesses in the supporting part or are formed in the latter. Seals are retained under pressure. Each recess has an axial undercut so that sealing rings can only be removed using force. A recess in the supporting part to hold a sealing ring(19) surrounding the flow chamber is open at the radially outer edge. Recesses in the supporting part for holding sealing rings(18) surrounding the fluid inlet and outlet channels(12,14) connect directly with the flow openings(16,17). Flow openings may be cylindrical or have an oval cross-section. Axes of the openings are parallel to each other.
