<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve maintainability by easily drawing out a cartridge without damaging a photoreceptor provided in the cartridge in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the cartridge which holds the photoreceptor, and a belt unit which holds a belt coming into contact with the photoreceptor are arranged to have an angle at which the photoreceptor and the belt are separated in the case of drawing out the cartridge or the belt unit. The apparatus is provided with a guide mechanism for guiding the cartridge or the belt unit so as to attach/detach it to/from a main body. In the case of drawing out the cartridge or the belt unit, the cartridge or the belt unit is guided in a direction where the photoreceptor and the belt are separated by the guide mechanism. Thus, the attachment/detachment of the cartridge or the belt unit is facilitated and the maintainability is improved and also rubbing of the photoreceptor and the belt is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
