<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell having both high water repellency and cell performance, its manufacturing method, and the fuel cell having it. <P>SOLUTION: The water-repellent separator is used for the polymer electrolyte fuel cell. (1) A gas flow channel is formed on the surface of the separator, (2) a part or the whole of the gas flow channel has a water repellent layer, and (3) the water repellent layer is composed of at least one sort of sulfur and its compound. The water-repellent separator is manufactured by a manufacturing method including a process of forming the water repellent layer containing at least one sort of sulfur and its compound in a part or the whole of the gas flow channel surface of the separator having the gas flow channel in its surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
