PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display excellent in the stability of bend orientation, and hardly produce striped indication unevenness. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display comprises: a rear surface substrate 10 composed of a substrate 100, an electrode 130, and an oriented film 140 in which a 1st waveform surface, which is positioned on an electrode 130, is provided with a waveform surface connected with rising inclinations and lowering inclinations steeper than the rising inclinations or vertical surfaces alternately, and the interval of periodic structure formed by the rising inclination surface of the 1st waveform surface is≤1μm; a front substrate 20 composed of substrate 200, an electrode 230 and a 2nd waveform surface which is positioned on an electrode 230, provided with the waveform surface connected with rising inclinations and lowering inclinations steeper than the rising inclinations or vertical surfaces alternately in the same direction as the 1st waveform surface, and a oriented film 240, the interval of the periodic structure formed by the rising inclination of the 2nd waveform surface is≤1μm; and a dimmer layer 30 intervenes between the rear surface substrate 10 and the front substrate 20 containing liquid crystal material for forming bend orientation when voltages are impressed between the electrodes 130 and 230.
