PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a fixing device having a separation claw of a simple structure to surely separate the separation claw from a heating member on the occurrence of jamming of a recording material within the fixing device. SOLUTION: The separation claw is provided with a first fulcrum and a second fulcrum. Normally when the recording material is separated, the separation claw is rotatably supported at the first fulcrum and when the separation claw receives force due to the jamming of the recording material, the separation claw is rotated around the first fulcrum and the second fulcrum to separate the tip of the separation claw from the surface of the heating member.
