PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve moving image display quality etc. in an active matrix type electrooptical device. SOLUTION: Each two rows of two hundreds and forty row scanning lines are selected twice so as to be corresponding to each column of two-row and two-column scanning patterns. For each selection, a scanning signal of a voltage according to an element of the row corresponding to the selection in the scanning pattern is supplied to two row scanning lines selected at the same time, while a data signal Xj corresponding to j-th column data line is set to a voltage according to a product sum of the element showing a display content of a pixel corresponding to an intersection of j-th column data line and two row scanning lines selected at the same time, and the element of the column corresponding to the selection in the scanning patterns.
