PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of sealing a radioactive material storage vessel and a seal check system which can be used continuously regardless of transfer of transportation and storage forms of the radioactive material storage vessel and are more efficient and effective than conventional ones. SOLUTION: With the method, radioactive material storage vessel is sealed by putting a seal tool 2 on the vessel consisting of the vessel body containing at least radioactive material or spent fuel and its lid. The seal tool 2 includes discrimination information capable of reading by noncontact measure, and becomes unable to read the discrimination information by the noncontact measure when the seal tool 2 is unsealed.
