PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the accuracy of controlling the air-fuel ratio of a combustion apparatus in view of the fact that, because the way in which a flame is applied to the flame rod of a gas burner is not constant even with the same amount of combustion and because the flame changes greatly from a laminar flame to a turbulent flame as the amount of combustion is varied in proportion to the range of combustion control, the value of a current flowing in the flame rod is difficult to stabilize, with the state of combustion being also difficult to determine, resulting in the disadvantage of having difficulty in controlling the ratio of the number of revolutions of a fan to the amount of liquid fuel supplied, i.e., the air-fuel ratio. SOLUTION: After the combustion apparatus has started combustion and maintained the combustion for more than a certain period of time, a temperature measuring means measures the temperature of premixed gas. Based on this measurement, a combustion control means controls the mixing ratio of the liquid fuel to combustion air so that the mixing ratio matches the preset temperature of the premixed gas.
