FLAME-RETARDANT FIBER SHEET AND FORMED ARTICLE THEREOF

Disclosed are a fiber sheet having excellent flame retardance, and a formed article thereof. Specifically disclosed is a flame-retardant fiber sheet wherein fibers contain an ammonium polyphosphate having a polymerization degree of 10-40. The ammonium polyphosphate is insoluble or poorly soluble in water, and provides the fiber sheet with excellent flame retardance along with water resistance and durability. In addition the ammonium polyphosphate is available at low cost. Since an article formed of this flame-retardant fiber sheet has excellent flame retardance while being harmless to humans and animals, it is useful, for example, as an interior material for automobiles or buildings.
