PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique effective for reducing an impact in stopping a tip tool in a power tool including a rotary tip tool. SOLUTION: This power tool includes: a motor 111; a drive side rotary member 121; a driven side rotary member 123; the tip tool 141; a fixed side member 155; and a spiral spring 153 for locking the rotation of the driven side rotary member or unlocking the same. The spiral spring is mounted on the peripheral surface of the fixed side member and the driven side rotary member, and relatively rotated to one side of the winding direction to the respective members to be wound round the peripheral surfaces of the fixed side member and the driven side rotary member, thereby locking the rotation of the driven side rotary member, and relatively rotated to the other side in the winding directions to be unwound, thereby releasing locking of the driven side rotary member.
