PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injector having an injection part, provided at a tip end of a fuel injection valve, such as an injection hole, for injecting and supplying fuel into an internal combustion engine, capable of suppressing adhesion of deposit at the tip end and removing adhered deposit. SOLUTION: The fuel injector has a combustion chamber 106 inside a cylinder, a fuel injection valve 2 for injecting and supplying fuel into the combustion chamber 106, and an ignitor 105 for ignition. The fuel injector is used in an internal combustion engine 100 in which a combustible mixture of air and fuel, or fuel is ignited by the ignitor 105. The fuel injector is equipped with the fuel injection valve 2, and is for injecting fuel toward the combustion chamber 106 from the injection part provided at its tip end side. The fuel injector is also equipped with a detecting means 2c for detecting deposit adhered to the tip end parts 20 and 83, a deposit removing means 105 for blowing away deposit from the tip end side, and a control means 200 for blowing away deposit with the deposit removing means 105 in the case where deposit adhered to the tip end parts 20 and 83 are detected by the detecting means 2c.
