PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body motion measuring device for precisely carrying out a sleep determination of a sleeping person precisely without being affected by the kind and state of bedding, sleeping posture and body weight of the sleeping person. SOLUTION: A signal detected by a sleep sensor (20) is modulated into a predetermined body motion signal by a processing means (40). An updating means (60) then changes a body motion determination threshold appropriately so as to trace the minimum value of body motion signals. A sleep determination means (53) carries out the sleep determination of the sleeping person by comparing the body motion signal and the body motion determination threshold updated appropriately by the updating means (60).
