<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous pigment dispersion for preparing an aqueous ink of inkjet-recording, capable of obtaining a colored image having excellent scratch resistance and luster, and holding excellent dispersion stability, and the aqueous ink for the inkjet-recording containing the aqueous pigment dispersion. <P>SOLUTION: This aqueous pigment dispersion for preparing the aqueous ink for inkjet-recording, containing a styrene-acrylic monomer-based copolymer containing each of polymerization units of a styrene-based monomer, a (meth)acrylic acid ester-based monomer and (meth)acrylic acid, a pigment and a basic compound as essential components is provided so that the styrene-acrylic monomer-based copolymer has 100,000 to 3,500,000 (Mw) weight-average molecular weight based on the polystyrene and non-localized cross-linked parts.
