PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of quickly restarting imaging having been executed just before occurrence of a power failure by surely restoring a state of imaging operations just before the occurrence of the power failure when the power failure takes place and then supply of power is restored. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 1 includes: a secondary power supply section 19 charged up by a power supply section 18; and an EEPROM 20. The secondary power supply section 19 is connected to a CPU 10, a RAM 11 and the EEPROM 20, and the secondary power supply section 19 continues supply of power for a prescribed time even when the supply of power from the power supply section 18 is stopped due to the power failure. When the CPU 10 energized in this way detects the power failure, the CPU 10 stores positional information of a motor-driven universal head 14 and a zoom attached lens part 16 stored in the RAM 11 to the EEPROM 20. When the CPU 10 detects restoration of the power failure, the CPU 10 reads the positional information stored in the EEPROM 20 and restores the operating state of the imaging apparatus to the operating state just before the power failure according to the read positional information.
