The safety light includes one or more LEDs with an associated controller switching it on and off to produce a flashing effect. This occurs only during daylight, and when the engine is running. The safety light is designed for a forward beam angle no greater than 30[deg] and preferably down to about 2[deg]-12[deg]. The optical cone is e.g. elliptical. White light is produced; it is directed to the side away from oncoming traffic.
