Device for receiving single sheets

Single sheet input device, especially for the input of banknotes to a container. The device comprises an alignment device for aligning the sheets and a stacking wheel shaft for ordered stacking of the individual sheets in a stack with the sheets stacked on their horizontal edges. By formation of the chamber bottom as a stop for the individual sheets, no separate stop unit is necessary. An alignment device comprised of a roller pair and an alignment roll cooperate with the stacking wheel shaft so that ordered stacking of even skewed notes is achieved.
