The invention relates to a fuel injection control apparatus for a direct injection type internal combustion engine in which fuel is injected directly into a cylinder (24). The fuel injection control apparatus estimates an amount of fuel that is mixed in the lubricating oil based on the length of time the internal combustion engine (1) has been running and the accumulated value that indicates the amount of air taken in by the internal combustion engine (1) while the internal combustion engine (1) has been running. The fuel injection control apparatus controls fuel injection based on the amount of the fuel present in the lubricating oil.
