The filter comprises a thick transmission raster with hills and valleys, the height of the hills relative to the valleys being chosen so that at the wavelength for which the raster has been designed for, radiation with a coherence length exceeding a predetermined number of wavelengths is refracted, whilst radiation with a shorter coherence length is transmitted straight through the raster. The raster is made from silicon or germanium. |
