Information handling system power consumption across plural information handling systems 12, such as a rack 10 of servers 12, is managed to restrict operations of the information handling systems 12 to within a maximum total power consumption. Power consumption is restricted if necessary to maintain a level below the maximum by selectively operating one or more information handling systems 12 in a reduced power mode or by disapproving operation of one or more information handling systems 12. Monitoring of power consumption and configuration of reduced power consumption modes is managed by a management controller 28 associated with each information handling system 12. |
