METHOD OF REPAIRING A RAILWAY RAIL ANCHOR ON A WOODEN SLEEPER AND INSERT USED FOR PERFORMING THE METHOD

The procedure consists of withdrawing the rail anchoring bolt from its hole in the sleeper (2) and putting in a semi-tubular insert (5) of a moulded synthetic material with holes through it. A wood fibre penetrating self-hardening fluid (17) is then injected into the hole from a container (18) with a nozzle (19). Finally, the bolt is replaced, squeezing the insert against the wall of the hole and forcing the fluid through its holes. The procedure consists of withdrawing the rail anchoring bolt from its hole in the sleeper (2) and putting in a semi-tubular insert (5) of a moulded synthetic material that is slightly shorter than the depth of the sleeper hole and has holes through it. A self-hardening fluid (17) that can penetrate the wood fibres before it sets is then injected into the hole from a container (18) with a nozzle (19). Finally, the bolt is replaced, squeezing the insert against the wall of the hole and forcing the fluid through its holes.
