Ferro-magnetic objects 12 in a hopper 9 are attracted to a magnetized rail 1 with a gap 2 between the opposed poles and are transferred to a delivery channel 11 by an endless chain 4 provided with driving pins 8 to extend through said gap 2 and engage said objects. A stripper plate 10 removes the objects from the magnetized rail and feeds them to the channel 11 or returns those mis-aligned to the hopper 9. The conveying track is circular in shape. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the magnetized rail is stepped having a horizontal portion (13), an inclined portion (14) and a further horizontal portion (15). |
