A process for producing a polyglycerol fatty acid ester wherein the amount of unreacted polyglycerol is reduced as much as possible in an industrially advantageous manner, which comprises adding glycerol to a reaction mixture obtained by a direct esterification reaction between a polyglycerol and a fatty acid at the temperature from 60°C to less than 180°C, and separating and removing the glycerol phase containing the unreacted polyglycerol. |
