A process for avoiding the standby discharge of a battery-powered sensor signal evaluation circuit, especially for a dust sensor, uses the charging signal (L) of the sensor (1) to switch on the current supply of the signal evaluation circuit (5). An absence of this signal gives rise to a disconnection of the current supply. An Independent claim is also included for a circuit for the above process.
