PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method suitable for producing 1,1,2,2,3,3,4 heptafluorocyclopentane useful for a solvent, a detergent or the like at high selectivity and yield on an industrial scale. SOLUTION: 1,1,2,2,3,3,4-Heptafluorocyclopentane is produced by the hydrogenation of 1-chloroheptafluorocyclopentene in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst where a group VIII metal is mixed with at least one kind selected from the group consisting of Ag, Cu, Au, Te, Zn, Cr, Mo, Tl, Sn, Bi and Pb. |
