Roller (1) to measure the flatness of a surface and especially steel and metal strips (2), to register surface faults, has sensors (5) integrated into the roller mantle under covers (6a) which are flush with the mantle surface to form measurement zones (3). The measurement zones are covered by adhesive metal foils (11), held in place by an adhesive or welding. The roller can be covered additionally with a mantle of a hard metal, rubber or plastics. |
