PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for heat treatment and an apparatus for quenching a plug with which the high durability is provided and all of an inner-diameter precision, deflection of an end surface and an outer-teeth precision of an annular part can be secured at high level. SOLUTION: To the side end surfaces 18, 16 of the annular parts 10 interposed with upper and lower dies 38, 40, comb-type grooves 38c, 40c of the upper and lower dies are faced. These comb-type grooves 38c, 40c are formed as flowing passages for quenching solution and the quenching solution can uniformly be supplied over the whole body of the annular parts. These comb-type grooves 38c, 40c can uniformly supply the quenching solution into over the whole body of the annular parts, as the flowing passage for quenching solution. Further, the strength needed to the thickness of metallic die divided in the circular direction to each groove, is secured by considering the width, the pitch, etc., of the comb-type grooves 38c, 40c, and the uniformity of supply of the quenching solution and the strength of the metallic die can be balanced at high level. Furthermore, the quenching solution can be supplied through bypath-grooves 38e, 40e, too and even to the tip end part of the outer tooth 14, in which flowing amount difference with the quenching solution making to flow in the inner tooth 12 is easily large, the sufficient amount of the quenching solution can be made to flow.
