The diverter has a current limiting unit with a pressure resistant isolating housing having an elongated chamber in which liquid metal is filled, where the chamber is connected with a channel. The metal filling communicates over a channel and a compressible residual volume remains between a casing and the chamber. Two connection electrodes are provided which stays in connection with the liquid metal body.
