A projection-type display apparatus (200) comprises a light source device, first and second lens plates (921, 922) and a light valve (925). The light-source device comprises a light-source lamp (2), a reflective mirror (3) for reflecting a divergent light beam from the light-source lamp and an electrode lead (26a) that is led out of the end of an emission tube (24) of the light-source lamp that is projected forward out of a reflective surface (31) of the reflective mirror and that is connected to an external connection terminal board (6) which is positioned to the rear side of the reflective mirror. The electrode lead is routed via the portion of the reflective mirror other than its effective reflective area and the portion of the electrode lead positioned on the side of the reflective surface is arranged along a groove (921b, 921c) of the lens structure of the plurality of lenses of the first lens plate.
