<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which is suitable, for instance, for a DVD-R disk system using a semiconductor laser having an oscillation wavelength in short wavelengths and which is excellent in light-resistance and storage stability. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is constituted by providing a recording layer 2 on a substrate 1, overlaid with a metal reflection layer 6 and a protective layer 4 sequentially, where an adhesion layer 8 and a protective substrate 7 are provided on the protective layer 4.
