<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the availability of light beams from a back light qnd apperture ratio by improving the display method without causing problems such as color split. <P>SOLUTION: R, G and B belt-like spot light beams are individually generated, the beams are moved along the orthogonal direction with respect to the longitudinal direction of the row electrodes on a display region and a panel is irradiated by the beams as back surface light beams. First to third spot light beams of R, G and B and fourth spot light beams of equal to one or more colors among R, G and B repeat movement in the display region. Address specifying, which selects the specific irradiating position within the irradiation range of the spot light beams on the display region or the row electrode of the pixels of the specific boundary adjacent position outside the irradiation range, is repeated following the spot movement and the pixels of the selected row electrode are driven by the corresponding color. In a virtual region 500, which is ruled to form a spot light beam sequence, spot light beams, to which R, G and B colors having more number of spot light beams of the display region are assigned, repeat the movement in the virtual region and the spot light beams of an effective range 510 of the spot light beams on the display region are made as the first to the fourth spot light beams. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
