PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus performing stable photographing without being affected by the capacity decline of a battery under a photographing environment wherein the capacity of the battery rapidly declines, which is represented by a cold photographing environment. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus, the temperature of the battery which is a power source for the operation of an imaging apparatus main body is detected in a temperature detection means, the drive signal frequency of a drive control signal generation means is decelerated in a reference signal generation means on the basis of the detected result, and power consumption in the imaging apparatus is reduced.
