PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a good riding comfort at low cost as well as allow the dispersion of acceleration and deceleration force characteristics between cars of a made-up train where a plurality of electric cars are coupled. SOLUTION: In the unit of formation where an ancillary car 1 and an electric car 2a are coupled with each other by a shock absorber 3a and electric cars 2a and 2b are coupled with each other by a shock absorber 3b, this drive system is equipped with a drive controller 6a which controls the torque generated by the motors of the electric dollies 5a-5d of the electric cars 2a and 2b, an adder-subtractor 7 which calculates the relative motion velocityΔVab of the electric cars 2a and 2b by calculating the difference between Va being the average of the rotational velocity of the motors of electric cars 5a and 5b and Vb being the average of the rotational velocity of the motors of electric cars 5c and 5d, and a stabilizing controller 8 which receives the input of the relative motion velocityΔVab and calculates drive torque adjusting valuesΔIqa andΔIqb to drive controllers 6a and 6b for reducing the specified frequency components ofΔVab and outputs it.
