摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine realizing more efficient exhaust gas recirculation than a conventional one by suppressing intake air interference and exhaust air interference among each of cylinders at the same time. <P>SOLUTION: Each of the cylinders 7 are divided into two groups in which the intake and exhaust strokes do not overlap with each other. In each of the groups, intake/exhaust air systems (intake air pipes 4A, 4B, intake manifolds 6A, 6B, exhaust manifolds 9A, 9B, exhaust pipes 10A, 10B) including intercoolers 5A, 5B and turbochargers 2A, 2B are completely separated and made independent into two systems. EGR systems (EGR pipes 11A, 11B) are structured separately for taking out a part of exhaust gas 8 from the exhaust side of each of the intake/exhaust systems and recirculating it to the intake air side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
