<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide apparatus which is useful in discovering stolen vehicles and the like. <P>SOLUTION: When a theft of the vehicle is sensed, a determination is made as to whether a route guide process is to be performed (S115). Then, when the determination is made such that the route guide process is to be performed (S115: YES), a guidance route is recomputed so as to pass a road on which an automatic number reading device is installed, and replacement of the guidance route is carried out (S120).
