METHOD FOR PRODUCING POWDER OF DRIED HIRUDO, POWDER OF DRIED HIRUDO OBTAINED BY THE PRODUCTION METHOD AND THROMBOLYSIS PROMOTION COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE POWDER OF DRIED HIRUDO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing powder of Suitetsu (dried Hirudo) with which dried Hirudo is dried and powdered without impairing various physiologically active substances contained in dried Hirudo and to obtain powder of dried Hirudo prepared by the production method and a thrombolysis promotion composition containing the powder of dried Hirudo.

SOLUTION: Powder of dried Hirudo is obtained by washing dried Hirudo, immersing the washed dried Hirudo in ethanol, freeze-drying and grinding dried Hirudo immersed in ethanol. Preferably antioxidation treatment using nitrogen gas is carried out before grinding the freeze-dried dried Hirudo. Preferably the freeze-dried and ground dried Hirudo is thermally sterilized. The thrombolysis promotion composition comprises the powder of dried Hirudo thus obtained as an active ingredient.
