PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate flaw detection inspection for a heat-insulated tank. SOLUTION: This device/method comprises inner vessel sheets 3, 4, 26 for forming a storage tank storing liquid; an outer vessel sheet 2 for forming a heat insulating layer arranged with the heat insulating materials 6, 7, in clearances with respect to the inner vessel sheets 3, 4, 26 therebetween; sensors 12-1 to 12-n fixed to a surface in a heat insulating layer side of the inner vessel sheets 3, 4, 26 for generating electric signals indicating flaw detection results in the inner vessel sheets 3, 4, 26; and cables 23, 36 for transmitting the electric signals from the sensors 12-1 to 12-n to an external device 13 arranged in an outside of the tank 1.
