PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove overlapped scales covering the skin of a fish by abutting scrape contact faces of a scale removing part with a handle held in hand and scrapingly moving a scale remover along the skin of the fish, to prevent scattering of the scales into the environment in all directions by adopting a structure different from one scratching off the scales with teeth, to facilitate cleaning by preventing a cooking place from getting dirty with the scales, and to allow work anywhere in a kitchen at home or a parlor cooking class by requiring no dedicated place. SOLUTION: This scale remover comprises the handle part 1 and the scale removing part 2. The scale removing part is formed with the scrape contact faces 2a and 4a coming into scrape contact with the skin W1 of the fish in its bottom, and the scrape contact face of the scale removing part is formed into an approximately recessed spherical shape.
