PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the dead angle without lowering the design property of a vehicle and a side mirror. SOLUTION: The side mirror 10 for the vehicle is provided with a rear view mirror 12 to reflect the rear side of the vehicle, a mirror body 14 to retain the rear view mirror 12, which has a bottom face aperture 22 formed in the bottom face and a lateral aperture 24 formed in the side surface opposite to a side window of the vehicle, and a downward view mirror 110 installed between the mirror 12 and the mirror body 14 for allowing a driver of the vehicle to see the region below the side mirror 10 by reflecting the light incident from the bottom face aperture 22 toward the lateral aperture 24.
