Manufacture of paper products in presence of aqueous elutriate containing fine, coated filler materials, adds specified additional cationic and amphoteric polymers

Additional cationic and/or amphoteric polymer(s) are added to the components containing the aqueous elutriate of fine particle fillers, before sheet formation. Materials added to the fibrous suspension do not include any ester of unsaturated carbonic acids with quaternated amino alcohols, as structural components. The cationic and/or amphoteric polymer(s) are added to the fibrous suspension directly after addition of components containing the aqueous elutriate of fine particle fillers. Cationic and/or amphoteric polymer(s) are added to the fibrous suspension in quantities of 0.0001 to 1 wt%, based on the dry matter content of the papermaking suspension. In paper made as described, the filler content is 3-45 wt%, based on the dry matter content of the papermaking suspension. An independent claim is included for paper made as described.
