<p>A level (10) and a method of forming such a level (10) are disclosed. The level (10) comprises a body having a measuring surface (11) and a recess (12), a vial (13) positioned in the recess (12) at an angular relationship to the measuring surface (11), and a ring member (20) enclosing the vial (13) within the recess (12), the ring member (20) engaging the vial (13) and the body and fastened to the body, the ring member (20) having a beveled edge (23) forming a funnel-shaped surface (24) defining slope lines (27), the slope lines (27) intersecting the vial (13), whereby the vial (13) is protected by the level (10) and ring member (20) while visibility of the vial (13) is enhanced.</p> |
