PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a sleeper area in a railway track image in order to automatically detect abnormality of the railway track.

SOLUTION: The track image analysis device has an extraction means for extracting an edge in a longitudinal direction of a rail of the railway track image photographed from above the rail and having a rail area and the sleeper area crossing the rail area; an operation means for operating distribution in a longitudinal direction of the rail of an edge integration value obtained by integrating the edge in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the rail; and a recognition means for recognizing an area where the edge integration value is low in the distribution as the sleeper area.
